Self-deception can be a central leadership problem.

If you can’t see how you are the problem then all of your “solutions” will end up frustrating you.

Self-deception blinds us to the true problems and ultimately leaves us (and those we lead) dissatisfied with the solutions we come up with.

Too much pride in your opinion is the core of self-deception.

As 2019 begins, let’s remain open minded and humble. Might you have a problem that others see but that you still avoid or deny? Be open to the possibility that, in some cases, we might be more “the problem” than “the solution” and that the actual solution may be beyond the scope of your capabilities.
