In my last blog, I talked about leaders who care. Great leaders also listen.

When leaders take a few moments to slow down and really listen (with no hidden agenda) to those around them, people not only feel heard and understood, they feel safe.

As a result of this relational safety, people are much more likely to work together without coercion or force.

When leaders listen and take a genuine interest in people, those same individuals begin to work with a sense of pride instead of a sense of obligation.

So, let’s make it a goal to really stop and listen to at least one person a day and before you know it, your work culture will begin to change dramatically over time.
