I passed a hearse today while driving on the highway in my Jeep Wrangler and it got me thinking about death.

Now granted, as a former Navy SEAL, I have probably thought about death more than the average 39-year-old. Each SEAL operator has to come to terms with what death looks like and the possibility that each mission could be our last.

Even though death may not be the most pressing topic we currently face, it is still an important topic that can offer perspective in our daily living.

It begs the questions:

  • “What are you living for?”
  • “What legacy are you leaving behind?”

Take a few minutes this week and ponder these questions. Are you making choices and decisions today that have a lasting impact for generations to come?

Part of being Prepared for the Unknown is trying our best to make wise decisions today that will set others up for success once we are gone.
