Do you already feel overwhelmed and pressured to make New Years resolutions? Historically, do you usually fall short in carrying out your lofty resolutions?

Don’t feel bad because most of us do. And more importantly, it’s not a reason to quit!

When talking about resolutions one thing sticks out in my mind…. As a former SEAL, many people ask me for the best piece of advice I give candidates going into the SEAL program. I tell them to take it one meal at a time.

Often, it is all we can do in the world’s hardest military training to make it to the next meal. But, by breaking down the day into smaller and more manageable goals, students find themselves more likely to make it and not quit.

Similarly, we are more successful when we make smaller goals that we can accomplish over a certain time period.  So, my suggestion is to break down your New Year’s resolutions into bite-size goals and before you know it, you will be much further along than you anticipated!
