One Step at a Time
What is this guy doing in the picture? He is quitting. DOR or “dropping on request” is what happens to 90% of guys who attempt SEAL training. Know why the attrition rate is so high? In my opinion, it is because they loose perspective. Now lets make it practical. Why do so many people quit their New Year’s resolutions? You got it, because they loose perspective. During SEAL training I adapted the mindset of “one evolution at a time.” This mentality helped me take one step at a time, and after a while I had completed a day, a week, a month and finally my entire training! When we take life one evolution at a time (focusing on the challenge in front of us) we tend to not get overwhelmed by the entire ordeal. This year, practice taking one step at a time when tackling your New Years resolutions or the uncertainties that will inevitably come in 2017. And…. after a while you will turn around and see how far you have come!
