Have you ever said, “You need to trust me” to someone before?
Chances are this has come up during an argument, disagreement or crisis of some kind.
Unfortunately, by that time, it is usually too late.
Brene Brown wisely says, “Trust is the stacking of small moments overtime. Something that cannot be summoned with a command.”
I like to think of building trust as putting marbles in a jar. Each small moment when something is said or done to build trust is like adding a marble to the jar. However, each time trust is broken, it is like taking a handful of marbles out of the jar.
I will leave you with this: Trust between managers and employees is the primary defining characteristic of the very best workplaces, so take the time to make sure that you are always putting more marbles in the jar than you are taking out.

Son, I applaud your analogy and I’m grateful that it helps to further understand the past year and the process we are engaging with as we go forward. Love you and praying! Dad
